Today is February 11, 2018 & I just finished watching the CAVS destroy Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics. On my timeline (Facebook and Twitter), I noticed a lot o negative comments in regard to LeBron James that I fail to understand. What more do we want from Lebron James? What can he do to get the love that Michael Jordan or even Magic Johnson receive? On the basketball court LeBron is one of the Top 5 Players in NBA History and I'm not here to debate that. If you don't have James in your Top 10, we can't even discuss the NBA because your opinion is corny, but I digress. You can review his career accomplishments below at your leisure. There is a weird and strange "HATE" for a man that has represented the NBA, his family and his community for the past 15 years. What else do you want from LeBron James?
Is LeBron James perfect? Of course not and I have yet to see a perfect human being. We are all flawed and trapped in our own personalities. Do some players enjoy playing with James? The answer to this question is YES, just as some guys would rather play elsewhere, ask Kyrie Irving. Fans love talking about Jordan and players from previous generations. Jordan would verbally attack players as well as physically attack them. Go ask current Golden State Coach Steve Kerr about geting punched in the face by Jordan. Ask Horace Grant about his well documented opinions on Jordan. What about Kobe's attitude towards teammates in practice? What about my favorite Player Isaiah Thomas fighting teammates on the Detroit Pistons teams? What about Allen Iverson's behavior? You see, some of the greatest players ever had personality issues. Is LeBron James any different than the players I listed above?
You see, LeBron James has been in the NBA since he was a teen and now he is 33 years old. The dude literally grew up as a professional ball players. His life has been for media consumption before he could buy a beer. You understand what I'm saying? This guy was drafted by a Team less than 45 miles from where he was raised. This means that every person who ever spoke to him feel as though he owes them something. I will not speak on various situations with his Mother and no Father around. Dude was still able to have a successful Wife and Kids, with no crazy drama from terrible decisions. With that being said, what does he do? He provides financial assistance to his old community, build a business with childhood friends, put young people in college, assist adults with jobs and community programs, speak on Racial/Social issues unlike most of your favorite players and carried the NBA for years. What else do you want from LeBron James? What has he done that other great players haven't done? Great players want to win at all cost and at times, their decisions will not be popular. - Peace
