Man, I tell you some people truly never learn. Mystikal is facing sexual assault allegations once AGAIN in his home state of Louisiana. Yes, once AGAIN. The Shreveport Police Department has charged the rapper with rape, according to various news outlets. Mystikal, born Michael Lawrence, was initially being sought after by Police for the incident that is alleged to have happened on Oct. 22 of last year in a downtown Shreveport casino. I’m not sure why you would put yourself in this position again, but I digress. According to the report, investigators collected evidence at the scene matching Mystikal and 26-year-old Averweone Holman. Holman was arrested in Killeen, Texas on Friday (Aug. 18) by U.S. Marshalls. There is a third person involved in connection with the alleged crime. Shreveport police are also looking for Tenichia Wafford, 42, of Harker Heights, Texas. Police say she tried to persuade the victim to retract her story. She faces a charge of accessory after the fact to first-degree rape. Her bond is set at $200,000.
These behaviors are beyond comprehension. What did these individuals think was going to happen in the aftermath? You have to have enough common sense but this is a sickness. Mystikal is apparently suffering from some type of mental illness or addiction. This is the only conclusion I can come up with. Also, look at the ages of Lawrence and Wafford compared to the 26 year old Holman. I personally think they would be in a different place in life compared to someone 15-16 years younger. Mystikal and Holman have both been charged with one count of first degree rape. Their bond has been set at $2 million.
This of course is not the first time the former No Limit rapper has faced these type of charges. Mystikal spent six years in prison for sexual battery before being released in 2010 and signing with Cash Money Records the following year. Assuming these allegations and charges will stick, Mystical could find himself serving over 20 years this time around. The Shreveport Police Department has not made in further comments from what I gathered researching various outlets in regard to this story.
On a side note, I remember seeing Mystikal in the studio with Manny Fresh about 2 years ago and it appeared that he was on the up and up ready to make some new music. I guess when you're fighting personal demons it takes control over you.
Peace: Tony Hanes, DA DOME
